| This is the 2nd part of this Photoshop tutorial to create a layout with an abstract header. Next, make selection in the center of the layer (image a) and then apply gaussian blur (filter> blue > gaussian blur), with the radius set to 0.5. This will make the transition between the gradient more seemless. Use the rectangular marquee to delete the top and bottom parts (image b). Zoom out to 100 and then move the layer to the top right (image c). |
| |
| |
| Next, use the transform tool (edit > transform > scale) to the scale the layer vertically, so that it spans from top to bottom of the layer. Duplicate the layer, flip it horizontally (edit > transform > flip horizontal) and then move it over to the right hand side (image b). |
| |
| |
| Zoom back in to 300% and then, on a new layer, create a rectangle using a slightly light tone of grey (404040). Next, create a linear gradient, using 4E4E4E for the foreground and 373737 for the background. To create this gradient drag from the distance and direction, shown in image a). |
| |
| Make a thin rectangle (image a) below the gradient, using 484848.Then make a thicker rectangle (image b), using 3B3B3B for the color. |
| Use the tranform tool to scale the layer horizontally the width of the gap above it. Next go to Part 3 of this Photoshop tutorial. |
