| Start off by making new Photoshop document, with dimensions of 500x500 and a dark blue (07414E) background. Create a linear gradient inside a rectangular selection for the content area, using 395E60 for the foreground color and 1D1D1D for the background. Next create going to create the abstract pattern, so make a new path layer and then use the pen tool to create a curve (image b). |

Create a second curve facing the opposite direction. |

| Drag the top directional line to the center. |
 |
|
|
 |
|
| Create the 3rd curve beneath the first two. |
 |

|
 |
|
| Drag the directional line, that is pointing to the left, to the center. |
 |

|
 |
|
| And then create the last curve. |

 |
|
| Join the last point back to the first, make a selection using the path and then fill it with green (3C8758) on a new layer. |

| Duplicate the layer, move the original up a bit and then change then go to Image > adjustments > hue /saturation. Change the hue by 20 and the lightness by -20. |

| Now use the transform tool to rotate (edit > transform > rotate) it a bit, as shown below. |

| Make an elliptical selection over the top shape. Change the hue by 15, the saturation by -10 and the lightness by -15. |

| Make a large oval (146458) on a new layer and below the others. |
 |

|
| Delete the top part using the rectangular marquee tool and then go to <Part 2>of this Photoshop Tutorial. |
