This Photoshop tutorial will show you how to create sharp bladed Text.
Step 1.
Then apply the "pattern overlay" layer style, using the settings shown when clicking image a). Make a selection of the text, contract (select > modify > contract) it by 8 pixels and fill a new layer with light brown (B88D4D).

Step 3.
Feather (select > feather) the selection by 2 pixels and contract it by 1. Set the foreground color to light grey (DEDEDE) and the background color to dark (68645E). Then drag the gradient tool from top to bottom to create a linear gradient. Next go to [Part 2] of this Photoshop tutorial.
