Step 3.
This is the final part of this Photoshop tutorial. Next, we're going to create the cracks in the text. So, zoom in to 300% and use the polygonal lasso tool to create a jagged selection (image a). Cut selection (layer via cut) so that it's a seperate layer, and move the layer below the main text layer into a new layer set called "cracks". Change the lightness (image > adjustments > hue / saturation) to -40 and you shuld have something like in image b). Now nudge the layer down 1 or 2 pixels to reveal the black background (image c).

Step 4.
Repeat this process again several times untill you have as many cracks as you want. Make sure all the crack layers are inside the "cracks" layer set and then merge it (layer > merge layer set) into a single layer. Now add noise to the layer, using 14%/Uniform and then duplicate the layer.

Step 5 .

Change the blending mode of the layer to "Screen" and that brings us to the end of this Photoshop tutorial! :)
