This Photoshop tutorial will show you how to create an elegant layout. |

To start off, create a new Photoshop document with dimensions of 740x480, and then fill it with very dark green (172B12 was used in the example). Next, we're going to create the side borders, so create a new layer. Using the rectangular marquee tool, make agreen rectangle on the left hand side, with a height of the entire document. Next create another rectangular selection with about ¾ of the width of the green rectangle, as seen in the image below. |

Choose a dark grey (B5B5B5 was used in the example) for the foreground and a light grey (E1E1E1) for the background, and then choose the gradient tool. Make sure the gradient tool is set linear gradient and “foreground to background”, and then drag the gradient tool from the left of the selection to about 1/3 of the way towards the right. You should end up with something like the image below. |

Once you've created the 1 st border, duplicate the layer, flip it horizontally (edit > transform > flip horizontal), and then move the duplicate to the far right. |

The next part will show you how to create the header graphic. Select the custom shape tool and choose a dark green for the color. From the drop down menu choose “ornaments”, for the group of shapes, and then select the leaf shape circled in red. |

Create a large leaf in the top left hand corner and then rotate it counter clockwise by 90 degrees (edit > transform > rotate 90 CCW). Move it up to the top with the very top part slightly placed outside the layout perimeters. |

Right click on the leaf, in the layers panel, and then choose rasterize layer. Next use the rectangular marquee tool to cut out part of the leaf, as seen in the image below.

Duplicate the leaf layer, flip it horizontally, and the line it up like in the image below.
