| A tutorial to create exploding text with Photoshop & Image Ready |

| For this tutorial, I've used the text from the colorful striped text, but feel free to use something else or something else from the collection of text effect tutorials. The first thing to do is merge all the layers of the text in Photoshop, so you only have 1 layer with the text, and a layer for the background. The easiest way to do this is to make the background layer invisible, while the other layers are visible, and merge all the visible layers (layer > merge visible). Now that you have some flat text, create a layer set , and select the polygonal lasso tool, circled in red (image a). Use it to create a selection over a section of the text, and then right click on the layer, in the layers panel, choosing "layer via copy". You should now have 2 layer in the layer set (image b). |

| Now continue to copy (layer via copy) more sections of the text, using the polygonal lasso tool. I've divided the full layer of text into 9 layers, as you can see from the layers panel in image b), and the cracks in image a). |

| Next, create 2 more layers sets and drag a section of text, in the layers panel, to both layer sets 2 and 3. As you can see below, i've moved layers 4 and 7 over. Once you've done that make layer set 1 invisible. |
