| This is the 2nd part of this tutorial to create a colorful, funky web layout. Next we'll be creating some curvy long shapes for the header. So, make a new path layer and choose the the pen tool (circled below in red). |
| |
| |
| |
| Start the path, below the green header and to the left, creating a two curves (a), (b) |
| |
| Change the pen tool to the "convert point tool" (a) and drag the left side segment, of the 2nd curve , to the center. This enables you to create another curve unaffected by the previous one (b). You'll need to choose the pen tool again to create the 3rd curve. |
| |
| Create 4th curve (a) and join it to the starting point. One the path is complete, make a selection using it (b) |
| |
| Use the selection to fill a new layer with black, and inside the curved shapes folder |
| |
| Duplicated the shape. Use a selection of the green rectangle to cut (layer via cut) the shape into two. |
| |
| Delete the layer containing the part of the black shape that lies outside the green rectangle |
| |
| Make more duplicates of the original black shape, and repeat the process of cutting a new shape using a selection of the green rectangle. You can vary the opacity of the resulting new shapes to make it look more interesting. |
| |
| One you've finished making the shapes, you should be left with several layers inside the "curved shapes" folder (a). Merge the folder (layer > merge folder) into a single layer (b). Move the curved shapes layer into the bar folder, below the "white fade". |
| You sould now have something like below. |
