| To begin with, make a new photoshop document, with dimensions of 200x160 and a light blue background. Select the Custom Shape Tool and then create a dark red heart, or another shape of your choosing. We're going to make the shape more 3 dimensional looking, so rasterize the layer (right click on layers panel > Rasterrize layer) and then make a selection using it. Feather (select > feather) and contract (select > modify > contract) the selection by 10 and then fill it with a lighter red on a new layer above the darker layer(image c). |

| Next, create a pink circle on a new layer and then use an oval selection to delete it like in image b). |

| Use Gaussian blur (filter > blur > gaussian blur) with a radius of 3 on it. Duplicate it, flip it horizontally (edit > transform > flip horizontal) and move it over to the right. Then go to [ Part 2 ] of this Photoshop tutorial. |
