| This is the 3rd part of lights menu Photoshop tutorial. In this part we'll be creating the light holder, but first of all we need to create a group/lay set called "holder" to add all the layers in. Zoom in to 800% and use the rectangular marquee tool to create a selection. Set the foreground color to light grey (ECECEC) and the background to a darker tone of grey (8F9090). Create a new layer inside the "holder" group. Choose the gradient tool and use it to create a reflected gradient , dragging the distnace and direction of the red arrow (a). Use the transform (edit > transform > distort) tool to scale the bottom corners of the gradient (b). Then create an elliptical selection and use it to cut (layer via cut) the gradient into two (c). Delete the layer with the bottom corners (d) |

| Next, create a new path layer, create a normal layer (inside the "holder" group again), and use the pen tool to create a curve (a). Choose the 4 pixel sized brush, set the foreground color to white and then choose stroke path, by right clicking on the path layer. Apply bevel and emboss (layer > layer style > bevel and emboss) on the layer, using the settings shown when clicking image c). Duplicate the beveled layer, move it above the original and then scale it's width (edit > transform > scale) to 95%. |
