| Start off by creating a new photoshop document and then create some large thick text. I've used a light blue Arial Black 150pt for this tutorial. Make a selection using the text and then, on a new layer, fill the selection with a darker blue (image b). Feather (select > feather) the selection by 7 pixels, contract (select > modify > contract) it by 5 pixels and then delete the selection area. You should now have something like in image c) |

| Zoom in to 300% magnification and then create a white circle on a new layer and in a new layer set. Apply bevel and emboss (layer > layer style > bevel and emboss) on the circle, setting size and soften to 0, and the shadow opacity to 100%. The circle should now have a hard black shadow in the bottom right. Next go to Part 2 of this Photoshop Tutorial. |
