The next part will show you how to create the stars, so create a new layer. First of all make the foreground color white, select the Brush Tool, open the brushes panel (window > brushes) and then select a round brush. Enter the settings shown in image a) for “brush tip shape” and the settings in image b) for “Shape Dynamics” |

Image a) below shows the settings for “Scattering”. A sample of the effect that the brush will produce, when dragging across, is shown in image b). |

Drag the brush across the glowing part, and you should end up with something like in image below. Feel free the change the settings around to experiment with different results.

Now, we're going to change the settings to create some larger stars, sparsely packed together. Create a new layer and then adjust the settings to the ones shown below, for the “Brush Tip Shape” and “Shape Dynamics”. |
