How to Draw Mario
Step 11)
This is part 3 of the Photoshop tutorial to draw Mario. Next create the side burns (image a) using the same technique we’ve been using to create most of the parts of the face (circles contracted by 4 pixels). The bottom part of the sideburns were created using the brush tool. Create a new layer below the sideburns and then use the brush tool to color it in brown. Repeat this process on the right hand side of his head.

Step 12)
Next, we’re going to create the details on his ear. Use the circle technique against to create an eclipse. Duplicate the layer and the rotate it with the free transform tool. Repeat this process in the right hand side ear.

Step 13)
Erase the par of the duplicated eclipse that’s overlapping onto the face. Finally, we’re going to create Mario’s hat, so create a new layer. Make an oval shape like in image b).
a) b) c)

Step 14)
Contract the oval by 4 pixels, then use the eraser tool to delete the bottom part, like in image b). Merge the layer with the rest of the face outline layer, and then fill the empty space with red.
a) b) c)

Step 15)
Use the circle technique to create a small curved line on a new layer. Then create a large oval selection like in image b).
a) b) c)

Step 16)
Contract the oval by 4 pixels, erase the bottom part, merge the remaining part with the face outline layer and then fill the space with red (image b).
a) b) c)

Step 17)
Create another 2 ovals for the badge on his hat, and then use the line tool to create the “M” on the badge.

And so finally, after all that work, hopefully you will have created a drawing of Mario! That’s the end of this Photoshop tutorial!
