| A Photoshop tutorial to create a metal text effect. |

| Start off by making a new Photoshop document with dimensions of 260x185, or bigger if you'd like to create text with more letters. Create some text using 150pt Arial Black or any other thick font. |

| Apply the bevel and emboss layer style (layer > layer style > bevel and emboss) to the text, using the settings shown below. |

| Make a selection using the text (select > load selection) |

| Create a new layer, set the foreground color to F1F1F1 and the back ground color to a darker tone (979797). Choose the gradient tool, set it to linear gradient and then drag the distance and direction of the red arrow (image a). |
