| This Photoshop tutorial will show you how to create a morphing glow effect. |
| |
| First of all make a new Photoshop document. For this tutorial I've made the dimensions 100x100. Create an oval selection with it extending outside the perimeters of the document. On a new layer, make a radial gradient in the selection. A 2 new layers create 2 smaller radial gradients. |
| Move the gradients into the center, as in image a). Change the blending mode of all the gradients to color dodge. |
| Save the photoshop file and then open it in Image Ready. Create 2nd frame and then use the arrow keys + shift to nudge each smaller gradient. Create a 3rd frame, and again, use the arrow keys + shift to nudge the smaller gradietns some more. |
| Keep doing this a few times, switching the directions that you nudge the gradients for each frame. Make sure that the last frame is close to what the first frame is, so that they transition without a large jump when the animation loops. Open the optimize panel, set the colors to 32 and then save it as a gif. And then you're done! |
