This Photoshop tutorial will show you how to create a glow text effect.
Step 1.
Start off by making a new photoshop document, with dimensions of 95x95 and a black background. Zoom on to 200% and use the elliptical marquee tool to create a selection. Set the foreground color to light grey (BCBCBB) and the background to dark (504F4F). Choose the gradient tool and set it to radial gradient. Drag the distance and direction of the red arrow (image a) to create the gradient (image b). Make a smaller cicular selection (image c) and fill new layer with black (image d).
a)   b)   c)   d)
Step 2.
Create a small oval selection at the top of the black circle, make a new layer and set the foreground color to a grey/brown (746D66). Choose the gradient tool, set it to linear gradient and, using the gradient editor, change it to "foreground to transparent". Drag the distance and direction of the arrow in image a). You should end up with the gradient shown in image b). Make a selection using the black circle and create another new layer. Set the foreground color to brown (C08653), change the gradient tool to radial and then drag the distance and direction of the red arrow in image c).

Step 3.
Create a brown (A17F5C) oval on a new layer (image a). Contract (select > modify > contract) the selection by 1 pixel and delete the selected area, leaving you with an outline. Create a smaller one inside the outline on the same layer.
a)   b)   c)   d)
Step 4.
Create a 3rd smaller outline on the same layer again. Duplicate the layer twice (image c) and then merge the 3 layers together. Using a selection of the black circle cut (layer via cut) the rings and then delete the outer are of the rings.
a)   b)   c)   d)
Step 5.
Change the blending mode of the rings to "Overlay" and that brings us to the end of this Photoshop tutorial! :)
