  Step 4.
This is the 2nd part of this Photoshop tutorial. The next thing we're going to do is create a red tip. So, make a copy (layer via cut in the layers panel) the tip of the 1st shape we creates. Make a selection using the new layer, by pressing Ctrl and right clicking on its layer in the layers panel. Fill the layer with red and then change the layer's blending mode to Color Burn. It should then adopt the same shine as the rest of the base. Next, create the shape shown in image c), using the polygonal lasso tool.

  Step 5.
Now, cut out a curved section of the shape, and then delete the left over part. Use the Reflective gradient, like we did witht he main base. You should end up with something like in image c)

  Step 6.
Next, make another new layer and then create a gradient to the left, like in image a). Use the transform tool to distort the gradient, and then use the grey shape below it to create a selection, like in image c). With the selection cut out the gradient, that we just created, and the delete the layer with the excess.

  Step 7.
Duplicate the gradient on the left, flip it horizontally (edit >transform > flip horizontal), and then move it over to the right. You should now have 2 gradients on either side. Create a new layer below the other layers and the create a red outline, like in image b). On another layer below the others, create a grey rectangle.

  Step 8.
To make the bottom of the rectangle curved, use the elliptical marqee and layer via cut. Now, we're going to create some nice wings, so select a very light grey and then select the pen tool. Create 2 points, dragging the 2nd point to produce a curve, as shown in image b).

  Step 9.
Create a slight curve with the 3rd point and then connect it to point 1.

Step 10.

Use the main base, as a selection, to delete the hidden part of the wing. Next, go to Part 3 of this Photoshop tutorial
