  Step 11.
This is part 3 of the Photoshop tutorial. Next, make a selection out of the wing layer and then drag the selection over to the right, like in image a). Feather the selection (select > feather) by 3 pixels and the fill it with grey. Make a selection using the main wing layer again, using it to cut out (layer via cut) part of the darker grey shading.

  Step 12.
Delete the excess grey shading, create a new layer on top of it and then fill it with the same grey. This layer will be for some more shading on the wing. Contract the selection by 2 pixels, feather it by 4 pixels and then delete the contents of the selection.

Step 13.
Create a new layer above the wing layer, and then make a blue oval shape, using the elliptical marquee tool. Again, use the main wing layer to make a selection to cut out the part of the blue oval that's covering the wing. Set the blending mode of the blue layer to Multiply, so that the shading can be seen on it too.

  Step 14.
For the fire part of this tutorial, create an orange jagged looking shape with the pen tool.

  Step 15.
Make a selection out of the shape, expand it by 3 pixels and then feather it by 4 pixels. Create a new layer below the jagged shape and then fill the selelction with a red color. Next create annother jagged shape with yellow, but not too bright because we're going to use a brighter yellow for the glow. For the yellow glow, create a new layer above the yellow shape. Expand the selelction by 2, feather it by 4 and then fill it with a brighter yellow.
