| First of all, make a new Photoshop document with dimensions of 560x230 and a dark grey (888888) background. Set the foreground color to white and choose the gradient tool. Set it linear gradient (circled in red in image a) and foreground to transparent from the gradient editor. Create a selection, with the rectangular marquee tool, and then then drag the distance and direction of the red arrow in image b). Next create some large thick grey/blue (A7B5B8) text, using something like Arial Black, 10pt, sharp. For this tutorial, I've use the text snow, as you can see by clicking on image c). Next, create a new layer and a selection using the text. Feather (select > feather) it and contract (select > modify > contract) it by 6 and then fill it with white (image d). |
