This Photoshop tutorial will show you how to create a text effect with a sun ray style pattern.
Step 1.
Start off by making a new Photoshop document with dimensions of 250x150, and a black background. Create some large grey (545454) text, using Arial Black/ 150pt /sharp. make a selection using the text (image a), expand (select > modify > expand) it by 5 pixels and fill a new layer with the same grey.

Step 2.
Apply the bevel and emboss layer style (layer > layer style > bevel and emboss) on the text, using the settings shown when clicking on image a). Next, choose the shape called "Registration Target 2", circled in red. Choose a light yellow (FFF291) and create the shape, covering the first letter.

Step 3.
