| This is the 3rd part of this Photoshop tutorial. In this part we're going to create a snowman for the header graphic. Create a new layer and zoom in to 200%. Make a circular selection, using the elliptical marquee tool, and set the foreground color to white and the background to A7C6D4. Use the gradient tool to create a radial gradient (image a), dragging the distance and direction of the red arrow. Duplicate the layer, place it on top of the original and then scale it down to 70% using the transform tool (edit > transform). Next, zoom in to 600% and create a brown (70583A) shape for the left arm, using the polygonal lasso tool. |

| |
| |
| Contract the selection by 1 pixel and fill it with a light brown (AB895F). Duplicate the layer and flip it horizontally. Move it over to the right and then rotate it anti-clockwise by about 16 degrees (image b). Zoom in and use the eraser tool to delete the bottom part, to make it look a little different to the left arm. |

| |
| Next, zoom in to 1600% and create a radial gradient on a new layer, using white for the foreground and black for the background. Zoom out again and duplicate the gradient to create 3 buttons and 2 eyes. Zoom in to 600% and then create an orange (EB7D1A) pointy shape with the polygonal lasso tool. |

| |
| |
| Create a layer below the orange one and then make a lighter orange (F5B263) shape by the side of it. Next we're going to create the top hat, so make a new layer and then create a black oval on his head. Create a reflected gradient on a 2nd layer, using C5C5C5 for the foreground and black for the background. |
| |
| |
| |
| Use the elliptical marquee tool to cut (layer via cut) the reflected gradient, and then delete the bottom part , leaving a curved bottom. Create a black oval for the top of the hat and then make a rectangular selection in the middle, across the reflected gradient. Go to image > adjustments > hue/saturation, and then increase the hue by 360 and the saturation by 50. This should make the selected area red (image c). |
